SUNY Old Westbury and SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University have standing agreements to support priority enrollment of Old Westbury graduates into key Downstate programs each year. Under these agreements, Old Westbury who meet the admissions standards and deadlines will be given priority enrollment consideration at SUNY Downstate in the following areas:
Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Fifteen (15) graduates can be accepted each year for priority enrollment.
Master of Medical InformaticsFive graduates can be accepted each year for priority enrollment
Bachelor of Science/Doctorate of Physical Therapy (BS/DPT)Four students each year can be accepted for priority enrollment.
Master of Science Physician AssistantFour graduates each year can be accepted for priority enrollment.
Master of Public HealthGraduates of SUNY Old Westbury’s Bachelor of Science program in Public Health will receive priority consideration for admission into the program.
Eligibility requirements vary by program, with each requiring Old Westbury students to complete classes in biology, chemistry, psychology and other arts and sciences disciplines as appropriate. For the Physician Assistant and Nursing degree programs, students must have an undergraduate degree from Old Westbury before applying to SUNY Downstate. All Old Westbury students must also obtain a recommendation from the College’s Health Professions Advisory Committee.
